Are we actually locked in?
Your safety comes first. You’re never physically locked in, you can leave the room at any time if you need to. Our escape rooms are designed to be exciting, immersive and fun, not scary or restrictive.

Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, we strongly recommend booking in advance to get the time slot you want, especially at weekends and during busy periods. The quickest way to book is online through our website.

Will we be grouped with other players?
No, all our escape room bookings are private at The Panic Room Gravesend, so it’ll be just your group in the room (no sharing with strangers). Whether you’re visiting with friends, family, or colleagues, the experience is exclusively yours.
Escape rooms work brilliantly for both small teams and bigger groups.
How long will the Escape Room experience last?
Nearly all of our escape rooms run for 60 minutes, and we recommend arriving 15 minutes early for your briefing. In total, plan for around 90 minutes on site, including check-in and post-game photos.

I don't know how many players I will have, can I still book?
Yes absolutely, as our experiences are private, just book for the amount of players that you know will be coming and then any extra players can be added on and paid for on the day itself when you arrive.
Is there a minimum age to participate?
Our recommended minimum age is 12+, but younger players aged 8+ are welcome with an adult in the group. Most of our games are designed to be fun for families as well as friend groups.
For our scarier experiences, we recommend 15+ (we allow 12+ with an adult). Riddled is strictly 18+ only.

What is a Panic Room?

‘Panic Rooms’ or ‘Escape Rooms’ are an exciting form of entertainment where a team of family, friends or colleagues can enter an immersive adventure experience. By searching the room for clues, hidden items and solving puzzles the main aim is to escape before your 60 minutes are up.

Think Crystal Maze meets Sherlock Holmes and you won’t be far off!

If I'm late can I still play?

If you arrive late for your booking we reserve the right to deduct time from your game however we will always try our best to give you the full 60-minute experience.

If you arrive too late for your booking to be run the booking is classed as a no-show and no refund will be given.

Can I reschedule my booking?

Due to us being a live event we are unable to guarantee any reschedules or cancellations. Please email us when this need occurs and we will attempt to organise this for you.

How many people can play at once?

This varies from room to room depending on size, gameplay or setup.

Axe Throwing:
2-6 Players per lane (3 lanes available)

Entertainment Centre Activities:

Laser Quest – 2-16 Players
Game Over Arcade – 2-16 Players
Private Karaoke – The Disco – Up to 16, The Lounge – Up to 10
Like TV Game Shows – Groups of 4-8 in our small studio, up to 24 players in our large studio
Splatter Studio – Up to 10

Is it scary?

The Panic Room experience is nothing to be afraid of, most escape rooms aren’t horror-themed and are just filled with fun and adventure.

If you choose one of our horror games like 7 Sins, The Dollhouse & Hell House, you will likely be scared but this is part of the fun!

Our ONLY Live Actor Escape Room Experience ‘The Happy Institute’ does have a live actor, which we adjust based on the group.

I have claustrophobia/anxiety, will I be ok in the room?

This will depend per person however we believe that most people will be fine, for health and safety the door is never locked so you may exit and re-enter at any time. The room itself is pretty large so if you feel claustrophobia or anxiety may be an issue we would recommend booking with a smaller group. Alternatively, you can come to us before booking and check out the room beforehand to decide if you are comfortable with it.

Are there any age restrictions for participants?

Players younger than 12 years old will require an adult present.
Most of our rooms are suitable for ages 8+ or ages 10+, see individual room pages for further information.

What time should I arrive for my booking?

Please arrive 15 minutes before your booked session time slot for your briefing and introduction.

What should I wear or bring to my booking?

You don’t need to bring anything except you and your teammates!

Please note:
For Axe Throwing the following clothing items are not allowed:
Open-toed shoes
Heels
Any footwear that may cause you to lose balance
For Hell House we do not recommend wearing heels or open-toed shoes, we also recommend wearing clothing you don’t mind getting dirty

Do you provide food & drinks onsite?

We currently offer a range of different food and drink options across our different locations.

At our Battle Masters Bar and Board Game Cafe we currently offer a range of: Hot & Cold Drinks, crisps, chocolates, and other snacks.

At the Entertainment Centre, we now offer – Hot & Cold drinks, alcoholic beverages, snacks, cheesy nachos, popcorn and delicious wood fired Pizzas
